(Saturday 10am Online Restorative Yoga: https://thewisdomsanctuary.as.me/saturdayrestore)
Today, I write to you as the Moon is in Anuradha, meaning “another devotee of God,” “the divine spark,” or “the lover and the beloved.” This is the star of devotion. And as we exit this asterism, tomorrow begins my 40 day sadhana of devotion that culminates on April 22nd. Are you joining in?
A practice like this is considered a practice of Brahmacharya - turning away from the worldly and applying your attention on that higher realm. For some of us, we call this God or Goddess, or Mother or Life. The names are endless. And for each of us, practice can look a multitude of ways. You can dip your toes in or do a cannonball into the deep end of the pool or off a high cliff. It is all of value.
I always enjoy sharing a little about how the astrology supports the practice. First, I mentioned the Moon and its transit through Anuradha as we begin.
But also, a bigger cycle is looking at the Venus and Jupiter that have been transiting Pisces. Venus, the worldly pursuits, left ethereal Pisces Revati yesterday and went into Aries, for a new cycle around the Zodiac.
These next 40 days round out Jupiter’s (our spiritual teacher) final transit in his 12-year cycle around the Zodiac. Jupiter in Revati is the last parts of the evolution that leads to an ending. But the ending has countless directions. Revati is symbolized by a single fish swimming in a direction, but what direction that fish swims in is unlimited and vast in potential.
Now is the time to calibrate your direction and swim to the new 12-year cycle. It is a time of dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s; cleaning up any messes you’ve created and preparing a clean slate.
Maybe you are just starting with dipping your big toe into this 40 day sadhana. Tomorrow morning, light a candle, spend a few moments in meditation, prayer and then journal a bit about what you’d like to do with your 40 days.
One goal is to discover for yourself what stands in the way of your ‘clear-seeing.’
Help me see what I’m blind to.
And in clarity, come April 22nd, a new seed can be planted with the best of intentions.
We will have a practice supporting our new 40 Day Sadhana as well as the upcoming cleansing period that starts in one week.

Upcoming Workshop Understanding the New Jupiter Cycle in April: https://thewisdomsanctuary.as.me/jupiter
March 14th I begin a 40-day sadhana (practice) that supports clearing my bodymind of impurities so I gain clarity on what my real intention is at this juncture (I do this yearly, I’m just late to the game this year, for good reason apparently).
March 22-30 is my Spring Cleanse (during spring Navratri). I’ll write a bit about what cleansing is.
April 6th Full Moon in Hasta Virgo (Manifestation energy)
Apr 20th Total Solar Eclipse New Moon Ashwini (The Initiation, and Healing)
Apr 22nd Jupiter enters Aries for a new 12-year cycle of growth and inspiration
Apr 22nd is one of the most auspicious days, Akshaya Tritya when both the Sun and Moon are exalted in Aries and Taurus. Also Jupiter, Rahu and Mercury are in Aries. Venus is with Moon in Rohini. I’ll have more to say later.
May 5th Full Moon in Vishaka (Takes the Fork in the Road, a new path) and this begins the big weekend of holistic wellness retreat I’ve been planning. This is a great time to round out this transitional period after the pandemic transit. By May 5th, we will feel like we have shed the old snakeskin and are moving forward in a new way with fresh skin. Even if you are not local, I hope you consider joining this weekend. It will be well worth the efforts and travel and if you are the camping type, let me know. Learn more here: https://subscribepage.io/2023retreat
