On Friday at 6:57pm eastern time, is the exact degree of the New Moon, a new cycle. This particular cycle has caught my interest as it is the pivotal point from the waning April 8th Rahu solar eclipse in Revati Pisces to the waxing October 2nd Ketu solar eclipse in Hasta Virgo.
I always like to look at the larger fractals and get an overall sense of the picture (vs. just focusing on the micro fractal). These cycles tell the stories of evolution and the obstacles of karma.
As a human, I like making meaning out of the experiences I endure.
As half divine being, I couldn’t care any less.
When viewed from the north pole, the Sun and Moon (and all planets unless in retrograde) appear to move in a counter-clockwise position. The karmic axis (and any planets in retrograde) appear to be moving clockwise - in opposition to the Sun and Moon. When I reflect upon this, I find this to be a very interesting metaphor. As we are moving through our life, these planets move through and give us opportunities for growth as human beings; for discovering what life in form in this body on this Earth feels like… what emotions feel like… what it is like to be in the realm of creation and manifestation.
With Rahu and Ketu, the karmic axis, they are traveling backwards and in a way, erasing a lot of those experiences. We have a nodal return every 18-1/2 years and in that return, we come back to where the nodes where at the time of our birth. We get a sense of that original blueprint and what we are here to do. Rahu is helping us remember that all of this is an illusion and to seek out who we really are (divinity in form) and Ketu is helping us figure out how to integrate some of that knowing into this Earth Realm (human form).
So we have the planets waxing on and the nodes (the shadow planets) waxing off. Or vice versa depending on your perspective.
Speaking of the larger and smaller fractals, our chakra system is mirrored in many ways. One way is through the nakshatras. All 27 of the nakshatras are related to specifically the first five chakras. So there are chakras from the Cosmic Being that are reflected to us here on Earth. We can understand these chakras and their intention from understanding what chakras mean in our own lived life experience.
Chakras are the eastern anatomy that we call our subtle body (mostly used in eastern practices and philosophies, although western culture is adopting a lot of this knowledge in its language). As this isn’t a chakra lesson, I’ll leave it at that and you can pick up whatever resonates for you at the level that you understand the chakras.
Revati nakshatra (the last of the 27 nakshatras) is part of the Cosmic Throat Chakra, and that continues through Aries, Taurus and Gemini and ends with Punarvasu as the last of the throat chakras. Revati is known as a cosmic messenger, shepherd or lighthouse. One of the symbols is a drum that is about announcing important information. As the last of the nakshatras, could it be that Revati is announcing important information that comes from realizations and insights (of 6th chakra that is not part of the chakra of the cosmic being)? There are more nakshatras (8) associated with the throat chakra and that systematically dwindles all the way down to 2 with the Root Chakra.
Considering the eclipses season of Pisces/Virgo where Rahu/Ketu are transiting, respectively, we are looking at the New Moon (and Full Moons) that are associated with the Throat (Pisces) and end with the Heart (Hasta).
And at the very pivotal point of embodying this divine light down to the Heart is Punarvasu.
Punarvasu is the last of the Throat nakshatras that then transitions to the Heart at Pushya through Chitra (7 nakshatras in total).
Over the last three months, the Sun has been transiting (waning) from Pisces all the way to Gemini, through these nakshatras of cosmic communication (or miscommunication oftentimes) bestowing opportunities for growth. And now we are at the pivotal point when we take this divine communication down into the Heart Chakra as we now start waxing toward the Ketu Solar Eclipse on October 2nd in Virgo Hasta.
What is on deck is a matter of heart and embodied truth. But we can talk about that in the upcoming new moons as we continue to wax to Virgo Hasta.
For now, let’s rest with Punarvasu. Punarvasu is the Return of Light, of Wholeness, of Goodness. In Punarvasu we learn that we are never half-baked, we are always the whole deal, even though we may have forgotten this wisdom. The Earthbound journey is about amnesia, and re-member-ing. Punarvasu comes after Ardra (the storm) where the slate is wiped clean, the tears are washed away and a new dawn emerges. Read more here.
I know many of you are desperate and hurting. The way of the politics and the rule of the land is dis-heart-en-ing to say the least. Punarvasu reminds us all that regardless of where you land and how assured you are that you are right, in the end, this is a game and you were always completely whole and held.
Punarvasu gives us another chance to take that magical arrow from our quiver, and aim higher (of the heart) and try not to miss the mark (sin).
On Friday evening, I’m hosting an online breathwork fusion class focused on this New Moon in Punarvasu. It is from 6-7:30pm (during the actual New Moon exact degree), and is the time for you to aim higher with your intentions for this next cycle, keeping in mind this is the pivot point for the Solar Eclipse in Hasta Virgo in three months time.
July 5, 6:57pm New Moon Punarvasu Gemini
August 4, 7:13am New Moon Ashlesha Cancer
September 2, 9:55pm New Moon Purva Phalguni Leo

As we continue on with these next few months, I’m sure to write more about the Hasta Virgo New Moon Solar Eclipse. This is part 2 of the epic April 8th eclipse and it is sure to be stirring up the pot for many of us, good and bad.
I’m calling this part 2: A Journey Toward Manifestation.
Firstly, I’m looking at these eclipses from the perspective of embodiment, of light moving from the cosmos into this collective human body, from heavens through that subtle umbilical cord directly into the Throat. That was part one, the journey from Throat to Heart.
Part 2 is the journey through the heart to Hasta. Hasta is the star of manifestation, of being able to bring your true desire into creation. But that is the caveat…it has to be of the higher heart. Elsewise, you have doubts and are humbled into being lame in regards to manifestation into creation.
Hasta IS the almost halfway point through the Zodiac. Ideally at this point evolutionary-wise, we have matured enough to understand life as a creative vortex. If we have, we may be able to create miracles (fishes and loaves), if not, we may endure self-doubt and confusion.
This is your call to action to get right in your heart, lift yourself up, initiate yourself. No one else is going to do it for you. Now is the time.
