Anuradha | The Divine Friend
Moon in Anuradha + Shukla Purnima (15th lunar day after new moon | Full Moon)
One of my favorite archetypes is Anuradha, The Divine Spark. It is also known as Another Disciple of God, Another Radha, She Who Makes Her Life an Offering. It is sandwiched in the middle of Scorpio between two intense energies but Anuradha is a different type of Scorpio.
It is known as the star of success and I think it is because here we are realizing that we are up-leveling our friendships for this higher octave. Yes, in Pushya, we realize all creatures great and small deserve nourishment and are worthy through the divine mother energy, and here in Anuradha, we are taking that up a notch and realizing that if we are going to be a servant of God here on Earth, we do have to pick our battles and we have to pick our tribe that can fight the good fight with us. (It’s the physics of the Earth realm.)
This doesn’t negate Pushya in any way. It’s just a different type of devotion.
Anuradha is associated with Mitra, the deity of the divine friend and is looking for divine collaboration and support. They want to support. And they want to also feel supported. It’s friendship, not guru-ship. Anuradha is working its way to eldership (more to come on this in the next nakshatra Jyeshtha).
Through collaboration, the shakti and power of worship emerges. This type of nourishment that is gained through worship rises up as spiritual energy and flowers into a 1000 petaled lotus flower. It’s a different kind of nourishment than is found in Pushya, but it is nourishment nonetheless. The most sacred kind of support.
Anuradha is ruled by Saturn, and Saturn is known to create a servant attitude. With Anuradha, we are graciously serving the divine, and humbled to do so.
When Moon transits Anuradha, like it is doing today, you might notice a desire to read scripture, to light a candle, to say prayer, chant, or have lunch with that friend who really gets you.
And my song pick for Anuradha…

PS…Pushya for reference.
PPS…I’ll post Jyeshtha for the full moon tomorrow as it comes on deck 8pm this evening. The exact degree of the full moon is 11:42pm tonight and I’m offering a Full Moon yoga nidra practice in the morning at 9am, you can sign up here if you are interested in joining either online or in person at the sanctuary.
As an Anuradha rising I always feel so happy to connect to with friends. I love living in community and creating a life where I feel like I’m on retreat everyday! I love learning new things and have a gazillian certifications. When I was a kid I would get so mad if my parents didn’t take me to church.
This is a whole new language for me. Enjoying learning and piecing it all together
