Today the Moon transits Bharani, still in Aries. Bharani is the second nakshatra of the Zodiac and is represented by the symbol of the womb, or the downward pointing triangle.
It means, “to bear, greatly,” “to endure,” and sometimes expresses as the energy of bearing great burdens.
I think of Bharani as the in-between, the liminal space, the incubation. It is a time of “becoming.” To be born requires great effort. We all are born from a womb. We all had to incubate in the liminal space for a period of around 40 weeks and, when ripe, then travel through the tight passage to what is to come next. I suspect dying is very similar.
People with Bharani shakti oftentimes can see as if they are in the liminal space. The “before” is close by. The “next” is close by as well. This makes them birth or death doulas.
It also makes them people who feel the weight of the world on their shoulders. They can do hard things. They bear.
Bharani is ruled by Venus, also known as Shukra (the 7th of the tissues). Venus is about being on Earth, knowing what came before Earth, the past life. With the knowing from experience, Venus is about making the most of these earthly days and years: Enjoyment, pleasure, love, romance, beauty. (I mean, how do you think babies are made, anyway?)
When Moon transits Bharani, like it is doing today, you might find you are bearing some burdens that are leading to a new take on life (I know I am doing that today). If you are a Bharani person, you might have more epiphanies or visits from those on the other side (very common for Bharani people). Or you might be working on getting pregnant. Just some ideas how it could look.
A few years ago I chose songs for each of the nakshatras based on how I was feeling them during that time. Here is what I picked for Bharani at that time/day, maybe not for everyone, but this is how Bharani shows up for me oftentimes:
Bharani is my Brighu Point, which some say is the destiny point. Having issues show up today that may be karmic and needing to be dissolved is fascinating to me. I had a session this morning with an energy maven where I was enforcing higher connections and dissolving and releasing burdens. The more my practice of Jyotisha grows, the more I understand the cosmic perfection of each moment, no matter what it is.
Would love to hear if this resonated for you, and how.
I am most definitely in the ‘in-between’, we shall see what is birthed!
