I think it is interesting that the Global Forgiveness Day happens around the time of Guru Purnima (discussed yesterday).
It’s as if… to receive the blessings of the guru… we need to forgive.
Mostly we need to forgive ourselves, for our missteps. After we humbly do that, we can work on forgiving others. That’s a very long discussion and not one to flippantly write about in these quick pieces.
Jupiter, Guru, also is the ruler of the 12th sign/house Pisces (remember Guru Purnima Full Moon happens almost always in Sagittarius — but sometimes Capricorn). These two houses are associated with dharma (inherent truth here and now) and moksha (surrender or ultimate truth beyond this realm) and the body parts are our hips/pelvis and our feet. For those who are interested in the somatics of it all, isn’t that fascinating?
Forgiveness frees us up to be more embodied, in our womb space all the way down to our feet so we take proper action in the world and make some headway with our karmic debt.
I ask for your forgiveness, for any of my words, gestures, posts, messages which may have caused pain to you in any way. Please accept my apology knowing that I am a student like you. May I be worthy of a place in your heart. May I continue to realize my shortcomings and work on them endlessly.
One of my teachers, Indu Arora, ends all of our trainings this way and I learned it from her. Try it on yourself, saying it to yourself. And then to your friends and family.
Again seeking your forgiveness,
Jenn
