I’m wishing all of you a very enriching mother’s day. We all came from a womb, without exception. We have that in common.
Whoever was the vessel that brought you into this world, we owe her gratitude for the sacrifice of her body to create, incubate and deliver us onto this earthly plane of existence. She may have even done that unwillingly and not by “choice.”
Possibly she raised us, nourished and nurtured us until we began that series of departures…going to school, staying the night with friends, leaving for college, marrying and becoming parents ourselves.
Yet still…. we were once her.
Some of us were raised by surrogates for that biological mother and they also deserve our profound gratitude.
We are here, and that matters.
Today, the Moon is in the house of the mother - Cancer. With Ashlesha, she who feels deeply. We’ve hit a very interesting astrological time that is filled with flow. On the very day I said was the “best day of the year astrologically” the leak of the probable reversal of Roe vs. Wade arose.
What I have to say about that?
As with the “bad” things like hurricanes, volcano eruptions, Covid pandemic, when strong, astrological placements happen, especially with several planets involved, we see big changes in our outer world (and our inner world). That is why we have the study of astrology…it is a way to understanding ourselves, why we do the things we do, and ideally learn to do something different, something “higher.”
There is a parable about a farmer and his horse and it goes like this:
Once upon a time there was a Chinese farmer whose horse ran away. That evening, all of his neighbors came around to commiserate. They said, “We are so sorry to hear your horse has run away. This is most unfortunate.” The farmer said, “Maybe.” The next day the horse came back bringing seven wild horses with it, and in the evening everybody came back and said, “Oh, isn’t that lucky. What a great turn of events. You now have eight horses!” The farmer again said, “Maybe.”
The following day his son tried to break one of the horses, and while riding it, he was thrown and broke his leg. The neighbors then said, “Oh dear, that’s too bad,” and the farmer responded, “Maybe.” The next day the conscription officers came around to conscript people into the army, and they rejected his son because he had a broken leg. Again all the neighbors came around and said, “Isn’t that great!” Again, he said, “Maybe.”
The whole process of nature is an integrated process of immense complexity, and it’s really impossible to tell whether anything that happens in it is good or bad — because you never know what will be the consequence of the misfortune; or, you never know what will be the consequences of good fortune.
— Alan Watts retelling the parable
What I do understand about Akshaya Tritya is that it has long-standing support. Whatever is started that day has endurance and can withstand the test of time. Is it the reversal of Roe vs. Wade or is the rising up of vitriol and oppression of social minorities so that it can be more fully healed?
You know by now, if you read these messages, that I’m here for the healing. I’m here doing my own healing work, to do my part to hold your hand as you heal, and to hold space for collective healing. (At the same time realizing we are whole and perfect as we are.)
Like I said with Covid-19 pandemic, we cannot heal until the infection and puss rises up, we have to see the boil and let it erupt and then clean up the mess of infection.
Same here.
We have two months with Saturn in Aquarius (which started a week ago). When Saturn retrogrades and goes back into Capricorn by July, we are really going to be getting some final light about what we are all learning and more ability to grow. Saturn will do his last bit in Capricorn until the end of the year then fully be in Aquarius for 2023 and 2024.
But for now, I suspect this is what will be on deck which is more of the same of 2020-2021, just nuanced in this reproductive rights coloration. (And this last bit of Covid-19 spread.)
