Let's Talk Relationships and Enjoyment
Part 2: The Case for Restorative Yoga and The Four Cornerstones
This week (of course we are moving into Valentine’s Day - or Galentine’s Day), we are talking enjoyment and relationships, known as Kama in the Vedic four aims of a well lived life.
Ultimately, we want to be enjoying life, have a deep sense of contentment as we live a purpose-filled, meaningful life, full of growth and evolution.
Having right relationships helps us in accessing enjoyment, Kama.
Going home to an understanding and compassionate partner, walking in the park with your best friends sharing about life, having the right business associates on your side, including those underground and unseen well-wishers supporting your endeavors.
Being in right-relationship, growing and evolving also lends to resiliency and immunity when times become challenging.
Restorative Yoga affords us much needed time to dive in and contemplate question such as, am I in right-relationship? It is through relationships that we have a mirror to truly see ourselves and learn about our shadows and the areas we refuse to acknowledge. Relationships encourage us to grow and evolve through the promise of enjoyment.
What do I bring to the table or am I only taking from others?
Do I give more than what I want to give and feel depleted?
We continue this February Wintering journey this Saturday at 10-11:15am, where I will be guiding our second class in this journey of the four cornerstones, supporting relationships.
Last week we worked with Resources but don’t fear, you can still join in and feel resourced.
Kama/Enjoyment/Relationships can be understood and seen in a deeper way through investigation into your natal astrological chart through the 3rd, 7th and 11th houses. However, that is not need needed in order to do the inner work of releasing some of the bound up story in our physicality (body). I just thought you might be interested in knowing this.
The image presented above shows the cornerstone of our Partner/Spouse, our 7th house and the supporting cast of houses 3 and 11. Contemplation of this map can help you gain clarity around any challenges you might find in this area of life.
Saturday morning, 10-11:15am Eastern Time, I’ll be guiding a Restorative Yoga and Meditation class in alignment with supporting this idea of Relationships.
It is online and therefore available to local and non-local people. I’d love for you to join me via Zoom. The class is offered as a Pay What You Want.
You’ll need to gather some comfies from around your home to create a nest for yourself, but this is all easy enough. Also, some time spent reflecting on your resources could prove useful as we dive in.
⏭️Next thing to do is sign up so you get the Zoom link before class, just click here: https://thewisdomsanctuary.as.me/saturdayrestore.
More February Saturday Restorative topics are:
Letting Go and Surrender (Moksha) Feb 18th
Life Purpose (Dharma) Feb 25th
I hope you join in on one or all… Message me back with any questions or concerns.
Maybe you are looking for an IN-PERSON experience instead of an online class. On Saturday from 4-6pm, I am hosting a duo Partner Yoga class for you and another to hang out, bond with each other and friends. It is a small class but also a past favorite of my students. This class you need to sign up soon, there is room for three more couples. Sign up here: https://thewisdomsanctuary.as.me/valentine
