Tonight at 10:34pm is the exact degree of the lunar eclipse. I wrote some about it here if you want a recap.
As we make our way through this new moon and head to the full moon solar eclipse on October 2nd, it isn’t without challenge.
Mercury is combust by the Sun, meaning it is too close and creates a sunburned effect. This is likely to affect the way we expression and social communications between many of us. Mercury rules Virgo (currently transiting Leo) and will arrive in Virgo on Monday next week. Virgo is known for it’s tight relationship with over-analyzing, inner conflicts, anxiety and most importantly healing. Virgo ultimately is the temple keeper for the Goddess and making sure all is perfect for the divine feminine, not one hair out of place and that is source of the nature of Virgo, however sometimes it isn’t so fun to deal with when it looks like exacting, requiring perfection from others and projection.
We all have a Virgo house and also Mercury in our chart. If you study your personal astrology and you are having challenges, be aware of what house is Virgo for you (it is my 7th house) and where Mercury is in your chart (in my 10th). You may also note if you have any placement with Mercury-ruled nakshatras (Ashlesha, Jyeshtha and Revati - I’m Revati Ascendant/1st) and if so, look at those houses as well.
Become aware of the lessons at hand. What is the quality of your Mercury? Is it in good standing? Is it debilitated, exalted, retrograde or combust in your natal chart? All of these have an effect on how you will receive communication and how you will return communication.
Do your best to ‘bite your tongue’ because likely you’ll feel differently about what you want to say just down the road a bit (Mercury is out of combustion on Sept 27). Remember everyone has a point of view; honor them as autonomous beings even if you disagree. If you have a misunderstanding, do your best to clear it up quickly. And find ways to digest any emotional turmoil this process stirs up (breathwork anyone?).
Another interesting thing to share is that today begins the 15-day cycle of Pitr Paksha, the half cycle of the full moon to new moon where we honor our ancestors and all those who came before us, laid down a path for us and whose shoulders we stand upon.
Tonight, I am holding a special lunar eclipse circle with breathwork and restorative yoga, plus a chance to share in circle. I have a few spots available for those local people who might be interested in aligning with this energy. Class is 6-8pm and then the fullness of the Full Moon Eclipse is 10:34pm. Join me at this link: https://thewisdomsanctuary.as.me/lunaseptember
Additionally, I will be teaching an online 12-week Jyotisha and Breathwork class where we will go one of the 12 houses each week and learn about it on a higher ideal and ways to align, and then take a curated breathwork class to help support that alignment.
