The first new moon of the year happened last evening, in Uttara Ashada Capricorn in the sacred portion of Abhijit, which is rarely talked about. This auspicious area of the Zodiac brings:
Strength
Victory
Success in dharmic endeavors
And it is a big YES to those inner questions you’ve been wondering about. It is supportive.
Isn’t this a wonderful way to start the New Year, New Moon with cosmic celestial support? I’m hopeful, but that is also my nature (you may have noticed).
I’ve been quietly dealing with vertigo and lots of trips to the doctor trying to find resolution. It has also lead me to sit in quiet and contemplate the patterns of my life and try to listen to what is really up for me, what is being asked of me.
It led me to look at a specific transit that I believe is affecting me strongly that last happened in 2004 and then 1986… and today (its about a 9 month transit fyi). Each of those periods I was going through intense pressure from “perceived” others and the pressure was causing me to reevaluate how I was scattered and what I needed to be doing. My nature is to scatter and spread thoughts, ideas, seeds as my planetary ruler Jupiter is with Svati but sometimes I am scattering the wrong thing. Like during 1986, 2004 and now. I’m keeping these cards close to me for now but let me tell you, it is quite something to be able to see these patterns and learn from them. So this time around, same type of thing, more intense, as vertigo is, but that also likely means more reward. I’m taking my time, resting, contemplating and for now “getting back to my roots.”
Which brings me to: The Case for Restorative Yoga.
Those are my roots. Restorative Yoga and Radical Self Care.
It is a hard “sell” for many people because culture shows us that to Do Be Get in this world is the way of success. We are so conditioned in that way. Restorative Yoga is the opposite of Do Be Get.
It teaches us, ultimately that… Life Is.
In February, I’m teaching a series of four online Restorative Yoga classes on Saturdays at 10-11:15am ET. They will be on Zoom.
You can join from anywhere in the world where you have internet access.
You can pay what you want.
You just have to sign up and show up with your pillows and your restorative nest (which we will create together).
There is no reason not to be here. And for those on the circuit of Do Be Get - Restorative Yoga can be your superpower when used correctly ;-)
I hope to see you soon. Sign up here.
