Solar Eclipse with Chitra | The Brightest Star

(Part 3 of 3)

Some thoughts on the eclipse cycle in the constellation group of stars named Chitra (happening in Virgo AND Libra).

I know you all are feeling the vibes - I’ve received some powerful feedback.

This is a 3-part series and today is more focused on this eclipse as a cycle of three total solar eclipses and some insights that have arisen in my awareness. If you haven’t read part 1, you can read it here. And part 2 is here.

Eclipses are times when both the light of the Moon and the Sun are eclipsed and we have an opportunity to see behind the curtains (Oz-land). I don’t completely understand what that even means in a way to explain it to you, but it is a way of accessing deeper data or code that help us navigate this life in a more integrated way.

The thing that keeps harkening in my awareness is that if we are seeing these patterns and cycles, it is for us to heal them. We cannot expect others to be able to even contemplate this notion of “doing better, being better.” If they could, they would. They are playing out these age old games of maya (illusion).

When we are in the types of relationships and situations where we cannot find enough safety for our nervous systems to find relaxation and our baseline set point of fundamental wellbeing, we continue repeating the patterns of our ancestors. And we are completely unaware that we are in this cycle, because our nervous systems are at a different set point of fight (or flight).

This blog is for those who are able to see patterns (or want to be a seer). You may be wishing for people to be different, but people are nature. They are grass growing. Some grass gets water and sun and some grass gets droughts and dog pee (my back yard visual).

Grass’s dharma is to drill down roots and rise up out of the earth. We cannot blame grass if it was born underneath a tree without sunlight, or if it was born in the Gaza Strip. Karma is the force that lands us into our situation based on actions taken at a prior time. And the actions we take now, will effect future actions. Thus is the nature of karma.

Us, like grass, use our rooting system to stand firmly on Our Earth and if we are fortunate enough to have received elemental support of earth, water, air, heat and the light of the Sun, we will find our way to be the type of grass that can “hold its own” (to quote a friend).

THAT, friends, means you can bear witness to what is happening without judgement and learn to discern in favor of humanity. You can digest the undigested stories of your ancestors on their behalf.

Thoughts on this Eclipse:

Astrology’s ‘proof’ is from observing events and people over the course of millennia and recording those observations. A direct correlation from what was happening in the sky could be found to be occurring here on earth through the people and nature (hurricanes, earthquakes, wildfires, droughts, war, birth of Avatars, etc.)

You can choose to believe this or not. But once you start looking, seeing and understanding these repeat patterns, you begin to understand the concept of “as above, so below” directly with your experiential lived life. Proof is no longer needed.

Great American Eclipse 2023
On Saturday, October 14, 2023 the Moon will cross the face of the Sun, and an annular solar eclipse will be visible in the Americas.

This eclipse is the second of three “Great American Eclipses:” the first was a total eclipse in 2017, and the next will be another total solar eclipse in 2024.

I was up at the Huntington Museum of Art on August 21, 2017 watching the eclipse with most of Huntington. It was for sure a reunion and communion of epic proportions.

What I remember most about this time is how 2017 seemed to bring a lot of endings and beginnings, at least in my life. It seemed that we were being asked to step up as a collective. Now that I am practicing Jyotisha (aka Vedic Astrology), I understanding meaning in a new way.

That 2017 eclipse was in the star of Magha, which is the star of our ancestors. When I personally consider my journey with my ancestors, from having my Ancestry DNA analyzed in 2017, learning to understand my own personal story through DNA, I also landed into these practices that honor (and make reparative/amends with) ancestors. Many of our ancestors didn’t have the kind of choice and opportunity that we assume we have here in these modern times.

Maybe it is our job to rectify what they couldn’t.

Then this second eclipse with Chitra could be revealing to us a pattern that is a shattering of illusion. It breaks the mirage and we have to see what is. The key symbol is a gemstone of great value, such as a diamond, that reflects light from its countless facets. It illumines what is unseen and hidden, oftentimes. And it brings shakti or power to accumulate good merit!

I think in the months to come, this is what we are discovering collectively in a new way.

In six months, this third total solar eclipse will be happening on the April 8, 2024 eclipse , we may feel that we have some of the answers we have been searching for - and we may not like the answers. This total eclipse will be in Pisces Revati, the most sattvic (even-keeled) of the nakshatras. Revati brings the power of nourishment and safety, and guides a Soul home.

Even though I sense that this was a rebel way of disecting eclipses, I’m interested in tracking these next few years to see what I discover. I’m also interested in hearing how you are understanding the eclipses and evolution in general.
