Happy Thursday to you. Today I’m sharing my thoughts and musings on several astrological shifts coming our way for those of you following your chart, my musings or sidereal astrology (different than tropical/western astrology).
On Sunday, at 12:37am Eastern, we have our new/dark moon in Mrigashira, which brings the shakti (power) of fulfillment … through searching.
The new moon is considered the optimal time to plant new seeds of intentions for the next lunar phase. Through having an introspective practice, we can find a way to wax off and wax on, to empty and then fill … with what is useless and what is optimal and practical for a well lived life.
On July 3rd at 7:39am, the moon will be full in Purva Ashada Sagittarius (the shakti of invigoration) and the Sun with Ardra (the shakti to feel and act).
Now is the perfect time to start something that will last. You can tap into the energy of fulfillment by taking action, feeling empowered, and drawing on your past accomplishments.
The Summer Solstice arrives with the moon transiting nourishing Pushya on Wednesday, June 21st. This is considered the auspicious time of the year when the light is at its fullest and from here starts to wane. It is a time of harvest and reaping the rewards of work and practice. In-Joy!
On Saturday, June 17th, Saturn goes into retrograde and will be apparently moving backwards in the sky through the end of October. When a retrograde happens, astronomically the planets are closer to Earth and thus we receive more of the transmission of that planet.
Mostly this year, Saturn is transmitting to us the healing vibes of Shatabishak, the 100 healing methods. 2023 is and will continue to be a year of healing collectively and individually. There is no better time than now to get your ducks in a row and activate or enhance your healing journey.
Saturn will revisit this area of the zodiac in approximately 30 years from now. He moves slow and during a retrograde is moving even slower. Let’s not wait until we are 80 or 90. Let’s align and flow with Saturn’s lessons now. Saturn requires us to be humble. What that means is that you bow down your ego to allow your unfiltered light to shine forth.
How this works: As I am a Pisces rising person, this is happening in my 12th house which can lead to a deeply frustrating time… and also deeply spiritual time if I can surrender to my subconscious through dream realms and meditation. If I remain attached, I feel agitated by my attachments to community and the collective, and feel stuck. Ironically, this is the time I decided to journey deeper into my astrological studies by learning astrocartography, which for me is about understanding where I belong and also helping my community.
And then there is Venus. About two weeks ago Venus entered a six-month cycle of dormancy. Venus entered Cancer, the sign of an enemy with debilitated Mars, then will enter Leo, another enemy sign, and finally on to Virgo, where Venus is debilitated.
Venus represents what we love.
Venus is our agreements with people: All people, especially with partners and lovers.
Venus is about respect and compromise in relationship.
Venus rules the 4th chakra, our subtle heart, which is the bridge to our spiritual heart and also the bridge to the physical heart.
This is likely a time where many of us feel “off,” unsupported, unseen, unhappy. Especially if you have an exalted, debilitated, retrograde or combust Venus in your chart (or otherwise challenged Venus). This is temporary and is a time for reflection on who rules your happiness anyway? Is it external circumstances? My guess is that you can use this sense of feeling “off” as a tool to dive deeper into awareness of what and who you really are.
The tendency is to supplement and add-on to ourselves by eating, drinking or otherwise trying to fill that void or “off” feeling.
But instead, can you learn to be comfortable in the uncomfortable?
On Saturday, we will be working with practices that support Venus that can carry us through these challenging times. I’d love for you to join in if you are local.
June 17: Saturn goes Retrograde through end of October
June 18: New Moon Mrigashira
June 21: Summer Solstice
July 3: Full Moon Purva Ashada (Sun in Ardra)
