Recently I started making companion blogs for some special classes or events that I host, so that people have something to chew on ahead of time. And, of course, not everyone can attend. These companion blogs gives you a map on the karma unfolding in the macro-verse. However it unfolds for you as an individual depends on your time of birth, your blueprint (hint: I can read your chart for you).
Before I get started, I wanted to share that I had a big aha since the last time I wrote you, after the 40 day sadhana where a lot of things unfolded for me. Spiritual practice is interesting these days, in some ways, it feels like no big deal. I don’t have the earth shattering realizations I once did. My heart doesn’t explode nor do I fall to my knees. Generally it feels like another day another dollar. There is nostalgia around the earlier days of new wonder and affirmation. And I love to hear other people’s journey.
It occurred to me recently what is uniquely my gift. I’m 53. I thought I’d understood this long ago but here I am, coming to terms with what my understanding is (in this current moment) of “what’s mine to do,” “what’s mine to offer the world.” Even though it wasn’t earth-shattering, it feels comforting to see my life unfolding in this supportive way.
I hope you found some nugget of gold over the past few months, as well.
The best Vedic Astrology (Jyotisha) has to offer us is to understand what is happening on a deeper level and to try to find the repetitive cycles and themes of our life so we understand 1) what may be coming our way so that 2) we can be better prepared to co-participate with it.
Most astrologers I know that have read a more than few hundred charts don’t see free will or choice in the unfolding of karma.
Good things happen to bad people.
Bad things happen to good people.
It was always going to be that way.
The exact events may be unasked for, but the lessons are by design.
But the choice that we can make, the free will that may be available, is the ability to co-participate with what is.
From what eyes do I choose to see from? A limited, narrow view of good/bad, victor/victim, black/white?
Or can I see that both good and bad are equally valid and true?
All karma is good for something from the journey of the soul.
I’ve talked about this before but as I’m rounding in a new audience, I wanted to lay that groundwork again. We can always hear it again. I know I can. I preach it daily but it also keeps hitting me upside the head like I just heard it and realized it for the first time. That’s the thing about the human condition.
When you took a birth, it was right timing for your soul’s journey. Same with me. Same with our brother.
Each event, each moment is a “right timing.” Whether the birth of a person, the start of an adventure, the fall down some stairs, or the start of the Weekend Under the Stars.
About 18 months ago, I started working on this event and secured a date for fall of 2022. That timing was not right and I knew it. With more inquiry and research, I found this perfect timing of May 5, 2023 at 3:30pm. Turns out it is a full moon, a lunar eclipse and perfect weather.
There is some thought that a lunar eclipse is not considered auspicious timing, but that usually will come from people that are looking from the black/white perspective. I don’t. It is all good for something and this particular timing has a particular type of shakti (power) that brings about the ability to accomplish many things. This is a time of inner reflection regarding the process of achieving goals. It is a time to step back and try to look at the bigger picture of your lifetime and see if you are on track with your long-term goals or maybe, like me, you are realizing there is a shift in what you really are wanting to do.
As we evolve, we shed skin that doesn’t fit anymore. Have you ever tried to fit into old jeans that are 2 sizes too small? It is so uncomfortable that you have to relent and take the new size. It’s like that. We don’t always want to evolve and grow, especially if things have been easy street… but that isn’t what life is about. It is about growing, transformation, evolving, being of service to the whole.
Here is a rundown of the stellar shakti (power) being transmitted to us. I’ll discuss this more Friday evening in my presentation as well as take some questions. And throughout the weekend, I hope to be able to offer some mini readings, especially for those of you who haven’t had your chart read by me yet. It won’t be the full reading, but it could be helpful in understanding what this weekend is about for you.
Jupiter and Rahu are both with Ashwini which affords us the power to heal ourselves and others. It is highly intuitive. Jupiter and Rahu make it a strong combination, an initiation.
Mercury in Retrograde and Sun are both with Bharani which brings the power of renewal and purification. Consider any tech snafus are pushing you towards letting something else go. Flow with the snafus.
Venus is with Mrigashira, and brings the power to find fulfillment through searching. What is it through this weekend that you are searching for? It is always part of our deepest inner knowing although at times it may look like searching for something in the refrigerator.
Mars is with Punarvasu and brings the power of life to regenerate itself, to find what was thought to be lost, to find your home again, safely. With this type of knowing, that we ultimately can never lose anything, we can be courageous on our path forward.
Rising on the eastern horizon at the event start time is Purva Phalguni. It is considered the Ascendant for the event and the most clear transmission of stellar shakti. It brings the power of procreation and multiplication, family. We are all in this together.
Ketu is with Swati with the power to scatter like the wind. What is it that we are scattering? Ideas. New thought. Good will. Seeds of intention.
Moon is with Vishakha. Moon is the big player here. It always is. It has more to do with karma than the other planets and it is awakening karmic seeds in each of our fields or spheres. This is the power to achieve many things in life and has to do with, often, taking a new path. Taking the fork in the road. Crossing the threshold, the triumphal gateway.
And finally, Saturn is with Shatabishak, which brings the power of healing and secrets (a lot of time this is lineage healing, hence the family secrets).
Notice, both the healers are on board: Ashwini and Shatabishak.
When we are looking at the stellar energy, it is pointing to our causal/soul body, the bigger collection of our past.
When we are looking at the planets, we are looking at the flavor and how it affects us presently, the transits of the planets are waking up dormant karmic seeds that are ripe and ready to sprout.
And to understand how this plays out in life, how it is creating the future, our tomorrow, we have to understand the houses and how this affects you directly.
That’s why I don’t like to share general daily or weekly horoscopes. It is just too hard to try to decipher for the layperson. Look at these bigger overarching energies, notice how it is playing out in your life, what resonates? What calls to you? Where are you finding the matching cards? There is so much to glean here.
Until Friday…and we will spiral in even deeper. Bring your questions (or post them in the comments).
