Holy Cow.
I haven’t shared with you since the day before the April 8 Solar Eclipse! Two lunar cycles have since passed. So much has happened for me and my growth.
I knew this solar eclipse was big for me. It started prepping me in April of 2023. I heeded the call.
I was gifted with hosting the most amazing retreat at Hope Springs Institute in Peebles, Ohio. I had my Akashic Records read, as well as two other profound mystical readings.
And I started a new arm of my business, Huntington Breathwork (which I’ll talk about more before I end this message today).
Additionally, I’m hosting a book club for the book Call of the Wild by Kimberly Ann Johnson which has been very transformative for me personally.
I’ve been doing intense Nervous System work since December of 2014, almost 10 years now, and through conversation in community, relationships, and insistent curiosity, some new patterns have been revealed to me by me.
The most amazing one is how I have been wearing what I am calling a “cloak of invisibility.” It is like it has been a superpower of mine in some way, held in high esteem, treasured, leaned into and now I’m realizing how this has actually been a Nervous System coping mechanism that falls into the area of the Social Nervous System’s way of fitting in, camouflaging itself for safety, acquiescing and giving in and putting on the nice girl persona.
We all do these things. All of us. In so many ways. It is an adaptation for survival. I don’t care how much “growth” has happened. These things are there for all of us in our own unique way. It says something about how long I’ve been trying to see this one particular thing. I knew it was there. I just hadn’t seen it in the way I’m seeing it now today. And woah! How brilliant it has been. What a gift.
And…I’ve outgrown it. Maybe it is a gift I get to now decide how and when to use. I like that thought about it. But without awareness, it is a coping mechanism and it is not my most natural, essential self being showing to the outer world.
Does any of this resonate for you? If so, maybe grab Kimberly’s book and join us for book club (just reply to this email). Find it at Booktenders (Ashley keeps it on hand as my people ask for it) or Amazon.
During these last months, I’ve brought breathwork into the forefront of my business. There is a lot of reasons why I’ve done this, but in short, breathwork is an effective practice to bridge together the conscious and the unconscious (we don’t know what we don’t know). Breathwork helps the unknown come forward to be seen and dealt with. It is literal magick in the best of ways.
Eventually, I will be offering Jyotisha readings with a customized breathwork integration session a few days after. Breathwork is also becoming an important part of my more advanced classes and circle work.
But for now and the next few weeks, I have some breathwork introductory classes available for $10/class. We use surround sound headphones which elevate the experience and the ability to stay attuned to your own inner experience.
Breathwork is not yoga. It is an entirely different modality with a different goal. Many people confuse breathwork with the breath practices (pranayama) that we do in yoga. It is not the same thing at all.
About this new moon. This is Taurus season (sidereal zodiac, not tropical) and this is where the moon is exalted, at its greatest potential and strength. New moon is when the moon and sun are at exact degree and the light of the moon is shadowed by the sun. It gives us the opportunity to set an intention, like planting a seed. In Rohini, the fertile and creative nakshatra, this is even more powerful as that is what Rohini offers us: Fertility, growth, creativity. Mercury and Venus are also here with Rohini, and Jupiter is in Taurus with Krittika, creating a stellium of planetary support and influences affecting a sphere of your life. For me, this is my third house of willpower meeting goals that need my effort to achieve them. That is empowered for me.

Breathwork can help you:
MOVE THROUGH YOUR DAILY LIFE WITH A SMILE.
Breathwork helps you manage stress. Feel more resilient and ready to handle everyday challenges without getting upset! Because life is more enjoyable when you meet traffic jams and misunderstandings with a smile instead of a cortisol explosion.
GET PERSPECTIVE ON LIFE AND FOCUS ON WHAT TRULY MATTERS.
If you have experienced a deep release during a breathwork session, you can probably relate to how overthinking, worry and anxiety suddenly went down a notch and gave place for gratitude and a deep appreciation for life. Breathwork is one of the fastest ways of getting out of a funk and back to what’s really important in life. A recent study showed that breathing combined with meditation helped people with depression when medication didn’t work.
FEEL MORE CONNECTED – TO YOURSELF, OTHERS AND THE PRESENT MOMENT.
Breathwork facilitates getting in touch with yourself, your passions, purpose and dreams. Attending a session with others creates an instant sense of community – many friendships have been made after a breathwork class! It also helps you get back to the now and feel more grounded and present with the people you love.
ACHIEVE PEAK PERFORMANCE PHYSICALLY AND MENTALLY.
Breathwork supports your body in using oxygen in an optimal way. It can increase athletic performance. Mentally, it can boost clarity, focus and concentration. This 2018 study from Consciousness & Cognition showed that participants engaging in breath-focused yoga had a longer attention span. Breathing in a certain way can increase noradrenaline according to another study, leading to better emotional management and enhanced focus. An invaluable asset in our wonderful but distraction-filled world!
GET HEALTHIER
Countless studies have shown the benefits of breathing on physical health. Disease thrives in an acidic environment and breathwork makes your body more alkaline. Breathing consciously can support your immune system and there are anecdotes on people reversing chronic autoimmune diseases by regular breathwork. Regular breathwork can lower blood pressure by teaching us to breathing slower. Many studies have shown that slow, deep breathing can help reduce pain.
